Nashville Baby Boy Maternity Session by Fox & Fig Photography

Baby Boy Maternity Session with Fox & Fig Photography

It’s something special when you bond with a photographer so much that you invite them to capture all of life’s big moments. That’s exactly how Courtney and Hunter feel about Sarah of Fox & Fig Photography. Having captured their wedding, they didn’t want anyone else to capture their beautiful baby boy maternity session. In the open air, with a charming, southern twist the soon-to-be parents posed with the sun peaking through behind them and Courtney’s blue dresses showcasing her beautiful bump of a their son that’d soon arrive and be given the name Caden Lane. Even with the calming setting, the enthusiasm of Courtney and Hunter beams so bright. Keep on scrolling to see just what we mean!

Tell us about you guys as a couple/family!

Courtney: We have been together for 5 years. We are best friends. We met through mutual friends and fell in love ever since. Hunter is from sante fe and I am from chapel hill, we actually went to the same college but miss each other by a year. We got engaged in Feb 2020, married in august 2020, and had a baby august 2021. We used to do acrobatics together but being pregnant and having a baby has been way more important. Sarah Cannon has been there to capture all those amazing moments for us!

What was the moment like when you found out you were pregnant?

Courtney: Complete shock but filled with so much joy. I was so nervous to tell Hunter just because this was something that was truly about to change our lives.. of course for the better. I found out at 10am that I was pregnant and had to wait ALL DAY until hunter got home at 7:30pm to tell him. I was sweating all day. Hunter of course was very excited of the news and even stated, “I knew it, I had a dream last night you were pregnant.”

How did you announce you were pregnant to your family/friends?

Courtney: We announced to family/friends in January because that is when my birthday is. We had everyone over and stated that we wanted to take a group photo with all the girls. My husband was wearing a tshirt that said “COURTNEYS PREGNANT!!!” He took of his jacket to take the picture and immediately one girl read the shirt and freaked out. It was a great surprise!

How has your family reacted to your pregnancy?

Courtney: Our families were beyond thrilled. My mom & dad both cried tears of joy when we announced to them. They just kept says “are you kidding… oh my goodness, are you kidding!!”

How has your pregnancy been so far?

Courtney: First trimester was rough, super super nauseous. Second trimester I felt my best. Third trimester I was getting super uncomfortable. I’m pretty sure my baby was learning karate in the womb. It was funny also because I am a labor and delivery nurse so my patients would be nervous that I was gonna have my baby while they were having theirs.

How far along are you in the maternity photos?

Courtney: 35 weeks

How did you come up with your concept/location for your photos?

Courtney: I picked a location that was close to home and blue for having a boy but honestly Sarah Cannon did the rest, she truly has a gift.

What was it like during the shoot working with the photographer?

Courtney: I wouldn’t want any other photographer to be completely honest. She makes you feel so comfortable and has the absolute best ideas that turn out to be breathtaking. My husband even loves what she does and he isn’t the biggest fan on taking pictures.

Thank you so much to Courtney, Hunter, and Fox & Fig Photography for sharing your gorgeous baby boy maternity session
