Darling Ice Cream Themed 1st Birthday Party

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! Get ready to melt over the details of this darling ice cream themed first birthday party. With the help of her grandmother, Kathy, owner of event planning company Romance & Rust, friends and family gathered together to celebrate Brookelyn’s special day. They cooled off from the Tennessee heat with the tastiest of treats as decor filled with vintage touches and pink hues surrounded them. Brookelyn even fit right in with the theme wearing cutest tutu and matching headband. These photos are sprinkling us with joy and we know they’ll leave you feeling just as cheerful!

Tell us all about the planning for the birthday party!

Kathy: Tennessee summers are HOT! With my granddaughter Brookelynn’s birthday being in July, we knew we wanted to be outside, even with the heat. The party took place at Brookelynn’s other grandparent’s home in Gallatin, which is equipped with an in-ground pool that provided the perfect solution to cooling off and beating the heat. The youngest guests enjoyed splashing around in the kiddie pools.

What was the theme for the birthday party?

Kathy: The theme for the party was Ice Cream! “Here’s the Scoop, our little sweetie is turning one”!! Although Brookelynn was just turning one, she already had a love of ice cream! We wanted to make sure this day and theme reflected her and her sweet personality. The desert table was filled with cupcakes provided by The Bakery Box in the style of ice cream sundaes, complete with paper straws, and displayed on pink and jadeite stands, as well as the adorable decorated ice cream cone and personalized cookies by Brookies Cookies TN. Vintage milk glass compotes filled with pink rose poufs, vintage ice cream boxes, and an ice cream cone marquee added the finishing touches. The centerpiece of the dessert table was the cutest ice cream cone drip smash cake EVER…also by The Bakery Box.

Did Brookelynn have a smash cake? What was the cake flavor and what did Brookelynn do when you presented her with the cake?

Kathy: The ice cream drip smash cake flavor was vanilla. She was a little skeptical at first, but once she got a taste of the sweet goodness, she wasn’t shy about digging in with both hands. She loved it!!

Were there any games or activities at the party?

Kathy: Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream Truck provided all you can eat ice cream for all the guests for an extra special treat! The little guests enjoyed bouncing around in the castle house.

Did Brookelynn receive any gifts that were special to her?

Kathy: She loves baby dolls, and she received her first dolls at her birthday party.

What are some fun memories you’ve had of Brookelynn at this age?

Kathy: They went on their first vacation to the beach a couple of months before her first birthday and it was discovered then that she is definitely a water baby!

What are you looking forward to in this next year of her life?

Kathy: Watching Brookelynn becoming a big sister to her new little sister arriving in a few months.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about Brookelynn’s birthday?

Kathy: One of the cutest elements were the ice cream sundae glasses filled with pink and white carnations and a pink and white striped straw. I also love the vintage high chair that has become a tradition for the grand babies to enjoy their smash cake at their first birthday party.

Thanks so much to Kathy for sharing Brookelyn’s darling ice cream themed first birthday party! We can’t get enough of the sweetness!
