Tell us all about the planning for the birthday party!

Brigette: We were out running errands one day about a month prior to Beckett’s birthday, talking about what we’d do for his birthday party. We drove by a fire station and I mentioned to our son: “Would you want to have your party at the fire station?!” And without any hesitation he exclaimed “YES!!!” And from then on out, he told everyone that his party was going to be at the fire station! He COULD NOT wait! So I called the firemen at Station 24 to see if they’d be willing to host and they were so kind and helpful and were thrilled to help us out with Beckett’s party!

What was the theme for the birthday party? Did you choose it or did your child?

Brigette: Sound the Alarm: Beckett is 4!

Did you do a cake smash? What was the cake flavor and what did your child do when you presented him/her with the cake?

Brigette: A local cake vendor, Faryn Bardin, made the most amazing birthday cake for our son! Fire house, firetruck, all in fondant! It was amazing and delicious!

Were there any games or activities at the party?

Brigette: The firemen allowed each of the children to use the water house and they had a BLAST! My son kept getting in line to have another turn! And then they pulled out the big firehose and allowed the dads a chance to use it as well! We also read together: Curious George and the Firefighters The food included: water hoses (twizzlers), matches (stick pretzels), firetruck wheels (cookies), little smokies (pigs in a blanket)

What are some fun memories you’ve had of your child at this age?

Brigette: The entire birthday party, Beckett had a ginormous open mouth smile! I don’t think we’d ever seen him that elated before! He was on a cloud!!!

What are you looking forward to in this next year of their life?

Brigette: Beckett is SUCH a joyful fun kid! Age 4 has been so fun thus far! He is still my baby, wants to snuggle, and needs his mama and daddy – but he’s also getting independent… so it’s such a beautiful mixture!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about the birthday?

Brigette: We can’t thank the firemen at Station 24 enough for making our baby’s dream come true! They were SO kind to let us host his party there and they went out of their way to make sure he had a ball!

Happy Birthday Beckett! And huge thank you to Brigette Billups Photography for sharing this firehouse birthday with us! For more birthday party inspiration, click here!
