Tell us about Lindsey Brown Photography + how long you’ve been in business!

Lindsey: At Lindsey Brown Photography you will experience timeless, joyful, organic photos with personal service and an affordable price. I want to get to know you. I care about providing photos that accent your uniqueness. I have a family-friendly, relaxed approach which lets you loosen up and allows me to capture your family and the love you all have for one another. I’ve been in business for five years now, and am based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee (but I love to travel, especially for sessions!).

What made you want to work with families + children?

Lindsey: I love the dynamic and fun that I have when photographing families. No family is the same, so no family session is the same! I want to serve families who value documenting life’s most precious moments – by way of photographs – to preserve those memories so that they can be shared with future generations. Especially now that I am a mom, I see how amazing it is to capture the different stages of your family and your growing children. These memories shouldn’t just live on your phone. They should be captured and printed for your children and grandchildren to cherish forever.

What is the philosophy behind Lindsey Brown Photography?

Lindsey: More than my love of finding good light and taking a pretty picture, I love being able to serve people! My heart is to leave you with not just pictures but an enjoyable and memorable experience. You’ve invested your heart and soul into your family. From your pregnancy to your newborn snuggles and beyond, I am honored to capture and preserve your most cherished memories.

What are you strengths compared to other family photographers?

Lindsey: One of my biggest strengths is flexibility! I know that getting your family ready for a portrait session can be stressful. My goal is to make this experience  as stress free as possible!  If that means that we shoot at your house to help your children feel more comfortable and to take the ease of driving anywhere away – great! Let’s do it at your house. If your child is fussy on the way to the session and needs a few minutes to play before we start shooting, let’s play chase for a few minutes to loosen them up! I want the entire experience to be a pleasant one – from the time we start taking pictures all the way to when you view your online gallery for the first time!

What attracts families to work with Lindsey Brown Photography?

Lindsey: I was actually a kindergarten teacher for five years before pursuing photography full time! I think this time working with children really has helped my client experience when working with families. I understand and am comfortable around young children and have no shame doing whatever it takes to get them to smile! I am used to singing and dancing for my kindergartens class and will do the same if it gets a laugh out of your children. I will guide your family into poses, but my goal is to make it interactive, fun and to capture the true essence of your family. This means I may yell “tickle fight!” mid-pose. I may challenge your kids to a game of hide and seek or chase. I want them to have fun and feel comfortable! By being flexible and allowing this type of behavior, I find that I am able to capture their real laughs and true smiles.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about Lindsey Brown Photography?

Lindsey: As I mentioned earlier, my goal is to make this as enjoyable as an experience as possible! The experience truly starts before we even get on location and begin taking pictures. One of the questions I get asked the most is, “What should we wear to the session?” I know picking out outfits can be stressful. This is why as soon as you book your session with me, I email you a Portrait Session Style Guide. This guide is full of tips to help you look great at your session and feel comfortable! There are even tips for things that can help your session go smoother. (Example tip: bring some snacks for the kids to eat during the session in case they get hungry and need a break. Another tip: bring a back up outfit in case the littles have a spit up accident or a drink spill on the way to the session.) Hopefully, this guide will help you to feel prepared for your session and take all the questions you have and stress you may feel away!
