Bright and joyful, get ready to be obsessed with this you are my sunshine first birthday from Romance and Rust. As mama’s ray of light, there couldn’t have been a more fitting theme to celebrate little Annalyn. Summery colors of yellow and pink set the tone of day and made the details shine. The sweetness continued with lemon cake and cupcakes, a lemonade stand and bbq, along with a cheerful balloon garland. We could go on and on, but we’ll keep it short and say that each element is an instant dose of happiness. Upbeat vibes and sunny skies, keep on scrolling to see this cute celebration!
Tell us all about the planning for the birthday party!
From Mama, Savannah: I’ve always called Annalyn my little ray of sunshine. This is why I chose the theme of sunshine and lemonade. Also, what could be a more perfect theme for a summer birthday, not to mention the cuteness of all the lemonade and lemon decor. We chose to serve BBQ, the “go to” for summer meals. And of course we had a lemonade stand, complete with a variety of lemonades and a balloon garland.
What was the theme for the birthday party? Did you choose it or did your child?
Savannah: Annalyn’s Sunshine & Lemonade First Birthday Party. This bright and cheery first birthday party was so much fun to create, along with her mama, Savannah. This theme was a perfect representation of her sweet and sunny personality.
Did you do a cake smash? What was the cake flavor and what did your child do when you presented her with the cake?
Savannah: We are so in love with all the sweetness of the dessert table! The perfect little smash cake, lemon cupcakes with lemonade themed toppers, and he cutest cookies mingle among lemon garland, a pink chiffon runner, and pink ranunculus in white bud vases. The sunny balloon garland and “Happy Birthday” banner made the perfect back drop. When presented with her vanilla smash cake, she wasn’t shy about digging right in! She loved sharing it with her big sister and cousins.
Were there any games or activities at the party?
Savannah: The little guests had fun playing outside on the playground and in the yard.
Did your child receive any gifts that were special to her?
Savannah: She received a book titled “Now you are One”, and she loves her Little Tykes car.
What are some fun memories you’ve had of your child at this age?
Savannah: She took her first steps at 11 months old and has been on the go ever since! She had her first trip to the zoo and pumpkin patch. A fun memory is that for Halloween we dressed as a “Frozen” family and Annalyn was Olaf. 🙂
What are you looking forward to in this next year of their life?
Savannah: Watching her grow into her personality and watching her learn new things.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about the birthday?
Savannah: One of our favorite elements was the personalized milestone poster and sweet photos that greeted guests in the entry. Annalyn Grace, YOU are our Sunshine!
