We love a little girl’s birthday party, especially a first birthday party! And Amelia Mae’s was not one to forget! With mama Meghan at the helm of planning and decorating through her company Brílamae Styling & Staging, the party was dressed to the nines. Tell us all about the planning for the birthday party!
Meghan: Planning for my daughters 1st birthday party was so much fun! I knew that I wanted a magical theme for her big day, but also something fairly unique! Being the co-owner of Brílamae Styling & Staging, we have done lots of birthday parties for children!! This made the planning & styling piece pretty easy breezy! Also, we use the best vendors around that can truly make all of your design dreams come true!
What was the theme for the birthday party? Did you choose it or did your child?
Meghan:The theme for my daughters 1st birthday party was “Fairyland”! I chose the theme & wanted to make it super sweet for my little girl! I chose an aesthetic of a woodland, fairies, butterflies and lots of pastels!
Did you do a cake smash? What was the cake flavor and what did your child do when you presented her with the cake?
Meghan:The smash cake was almond flavored with buttercream frosting and Amelia absolutely LOVED IT! She was a bit hesitant at first, but then dug right in and started eating it with her hands!!
Did your child receive any gifts that were special to him/her?
Meghan:My daughter received a babydoll stroller from my friend & a babydoll from me that she is absolutely obsessed with!
What are some fun memories you’ve had of your child at this age?
Meghan:My daughter learned how to walk a couple weeks after her birthday party & she was so proud (so was her mama & dada)!
What are you looking forward to in this next year of their life?
Meghan: Every month truly seems to get better and better with Amelia Mae. I love watching her grow, learn and explore the world! There is nothing better!
