Oh I was so happy to see my friend Emily’s maternity photos! Pregnancy looks so good on her and P.S. Cobia Photography captured these moments with her family and husband oh so perfectly. Emily and I work alongside each other in the wedding industry since she owns her own planning company, As We Gather Events. Her trip to the beach with her family turned into a family and maternity photo session and they were able to combine the two to get some incredible shots on the beach! Keep reading to hear Emily’s story and learn more about her family!
Tell us about you guys as a couple/family!
Emily: Zach and I met when we were 16 and got married in 2015. We are both Nashville natives. He works in healthcare and I run my own weddings & events planning company. Zach’s family: Steve (dad), Kathy (mom) & Amie (sister) Amie actually helps me on most of my company’s wedding days.
What was the moment like when you found out you were pregnant?
Emily: Zach and I were at home together and I finally took the at-home test after being almost a week late and I walked towards him with the positive test results and we were elated! We used the one that says “PREGNANT” definitively haha.
How did you announce you were pregnant to your family/friends?
Emily: We found out we were pregnant on December 21 and then wrote letters to each of our family members to open as “presents” on Christmas Day – it was fun watching their reactions!
How has your family reacted to your pregnancy?
Emily: This is the first grandbaby on both sides of our families so everyone is super excited!
How has your pregnancy been so far?
Emily: I have been very blessed with an uncomplicated pregnancy so far! No nausea or sickness. Rare days of tiredness. I do prenatal yoga at Blooma 2-3 times a week and highly recommend them!
How far along are you in the maternity photos?
Emily:26 weeks (6.5 months)
How did you come up with your concept/location for your photos?
Emily:Our family visits Pensacola Beach, FL, at least once a year so once we had our beach trip planned, I knew I wanted to go ahead and do maternity photos but also wanted to get some updated family photos. The photographer, Pevee, suggested the location: Fort Pickens State Park, which was a wonderful location! The Blue Angels actually flew over us while we were shooting! It was over Memorial Day Weekend.
What was it like during the shoot working with the photographer?
Emily:Working with Pevee was so easy and care free but so efficient which our family was very happy with! She made us feel comfortable as a group of people who don’t take staged photos very much. Highly recommend Pevee for all types of photos!
