Tell us about All American Sitters! How long have you been in business?
Teresa: All American Sitters was founded in 2020 by Teresa, who had been working as daycare owner, director, teacher, nannies and babysitters for years. After seeing a need for a more organized, professional approach to finding quality sitters, I decided to create All American Sitters. The company provides parents with an online searchable database of experienced, background-checked sitters and nannies. While working as a child care director I started placing teachers with families for date nights or weekends while working as a director at a local daycare center. We started during covid and I launched the agency January 1, 2023. All American Sitters is a type of business that provides placement services for families looking to hire a nanny for their children. The agency typically interviews and screens candidates, performs background checks, and matches qualified nannies with families seeking childcare services. Our agency also offers additional services such as training and ongoing support to both families and nannies.
What made you want to work with parents/families/kids/babies?
Teresa: As a childcare professional, I can provide some general information about why I may choose to work with parents, families, kids, or babies. Working with parents, families, kids, or babies is a rewarding and fulfilling career choice for me. I was drawn to this field because I have a natural affinity for working with children, and have had positive experiences with my own family members as a child. I choose to work with families and children because I’m very passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others. This could involve helping parents navigate the challenges of raising children, providing support to families facing difficult circumstances, or working with young children to help them develop important skills and abilities. Ultimately, the decision to work with parents, families, kids, or babies will depend on a person’s interests, skills, and career goals. There are many different roles and professions in this field, ranging from social workers and child psychologists to pediatricians, nannies, sitters and early childhood educators. Each of these roles requires different qualifications and skill sets, so it’s important to research different career options and I found one that aligns with my interests and abilities.
