A Winnie the Pooh Baby Shower for Avery Jaymes from Romance & Rust

Inspired by the classic style and light colors of Winnie the Pooh, Romance and Rust put together the sweetest baby shower for her daughter and her husband as they prepare for the arrival of their baby girl! If you’ve been following a long for some time, then you probably know that Kathy is a true professional at planning themed parties! This time is no different. Wood elements, bee patterned paper goods, favors filled with honey, and the cutest cake design are some of the many details that have us falling in love. Step into the land of the Hundred Acre Wood and get lost in the excitement of the charming day!

Tell us all about the baby shower!

Kathy: “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart”..Winnie the Pooh. No truer words! This baby shower is especially dear to me, considering I hosted it for my daughter, Sydney and her husband Jestin, in anticipation of the arrival of their sweet little girl, Avery Jaymes. Even big sister, Presley Lynn, was excited to celebrate! She wore the cutest t-shirt with the same Winnie the Pooh quote. She is going to be the best Big Sister! And I am thrilled that I will have another grand baby calling me “Mimi”! The shower took place in my home north of Nashville and their closest friends and family were in attendance.

Was there a theme? What was the decor like?

Kathy: When Sydney decided to decorate Avery’s nursery in classic Winnie the Pooh, I knew that would also be the theme for her baby shower. I love the softness of classic Pooh, so I chose a color palette of tan, light pink, sage green, and pops of yellow. I knew I wanted to add a modern twist to the typical Winnie the Pooh decor so I incorporated lots of wood elements, natural moss, a woven bee skep, wood beaded garlands, and fun candle holders that resembled bee hives. All they needed were a few “bees” to make their home there. I purchased most of the decor so it could then be used later to decorate the nursery , including several prints with the sweetest Pooh quotes, a map of the 100 Acre Woods, as well as a stuffed Pooh and all his friends.

How did the mama/daddy/parents react during the baby shower?

Kathy: Sydney and Jestin felt beyond blessed to be showered with love and gifts from their family and friends.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

Kathy: Loved the “Hunny” Pot cake by The Bakery Box! The decorated cookies by Brookies Cookies TN are the sweetest!! And the best part is they taste as good as they look! There is a photo of Presley and her cousin Brookelynn (my other grand daughter), enjoying the cookies. The balloon arch is one of my favorite elements to add, and the kids loved it!! There is a photo of Big Sister Presley right in the middle of it with her hair all static-y and clinging to the balloons. Some other worth while mentions are the honey favors with honey sticks, as well as the cute favor tags, cake topper and cupcake liners that were purchased from Etsy. I hand stamped the napkins because I couldn’t find the right shade of sage green and design that I wanted. This Mimi is blessed beyond measure!! 🙂

This Winnie the Pooh baby shower could not be more darling! Thanks so much to Kathy of Romance and Rust for sharing and congratulations to you all on your growing family!
