Tell us about Arcade! What made you want to work with parents and kids?
Meg: It’s a joyful time of life! People are in good spirits when looking at toys and clothing for children. There are so many incredible kid & baby brands right now that inspire us to get creative. Because we’re a kids store we can get really whimsical with our environment.
What is the philosophy behind Arcade?
Meg: We carry toys, books and clothing for baby through age six. We’re a big fan of products that parents and kids will both enjoy, things that appeal to the whole family! We mostly carry toys and clothing made by small, independent designers. We value high quality and uniqueness!
What are your strengths compared to other kids’ boutiques?
Meg: Our store experience! We have a photo booth, lots of life-sized animals, a designated play table, and a kid-friendly mural on our exterior.
What attracts parents to shop in your store?
Meg: We have lots of keepsakes for kid and baby that are hard to find elsewhere!
What are some cool new and innovative trends you’ve seen in kids’ clothing and toys?
Meg: A culture of conscious consumerism! This has manifested itself in many ways – customers supporting small businesses and creators, sustainability, interest in toys that encourage active and imaginative play, responsible production practices from our vendors. We carry many types of products but that would be the common thread.
