Sentimental In-Home Family Session by Five Pence Photography

Marking the end of an era, The Young Family turned to Five Pence Photography to capture their sentimental in-home family session. They wanted to document their last moments in their first home together. The family of four posed in the perfect spots including their cozy living room, the openness of their backyard, and their front porch — in front of the door that unlocked and led to so many great memories. With an occasion as special as this one, these photos are sure to leave their mark!

Why did the family decide to do the shoot now?

Bethany: The Rickers were moving and wanted to have the in-home session to document their first house as a young family. An ode to house well lived and well loved.

What was the concept for your shoot? What was your vision?

Bethany: My desire for in-home sessions is always to be a tribute to the life we live in our own homes. We spend so much time in our protective walls and fill it love, that makes it a perfect backdrop! My sessions are a bit documentary and a bit lifestyle/posed. Give me all the book reading, breastfeeding, children’s rooms, back gardens and front porches! Whatever you get up to!

How did the kids react during the photo shoot?

Bethany: Kids are generally happier in their home during a session. They feel safe and may retreat to their room or toy corner if they need a break. The boys were perhaps a bit shy at first, but after the book reading and playing with blocks, they were comfortable and having fun.

How sweet are these! There’s no doubt that the next home for this amazing family is going to be filled with just as much love and memories. Huge thank you to Bethany of Five Pence Photography for sharing this sentimental in-home family session with us!
