Capturing those every day moments can at times be more meaningful than getting all dressed up and shooting family photos in an unfamiliar setting. These are the days you’re living in now which is why having a family lifestyle photographer to freeze this precious time with your little family is so important! My dear friends Dani + Sean enlisted Dani’s sister Jaclyn Rey Photography for their in-home session… and their precious son Eli is definitely the star of the show! See their photos along with our interview with Dani below!
Tell us about your family!
Dani: Hey there! We’re the Stewarts- Sean, Dani, and Eli. We live in Nashville where Sean runs the roasting company for Stay Golden Coffee Co and I (Dani) work remotely as a content specialist for an email marketing company called ConvertKit. Eli mostly spends his days running around the house, hiding under blankets, crinkling his little nose, and making the funniest noises to get his mama and papa to laugh.
Why did you decide to do the shoot now?
Dani: We were planning on moving out of our first home and wanted to have some sweet memories as a keepsake. Also, my sister, the photographer, had been living with us and was about to get married and moved to Atlanta. So we wanted to squeeze in an in-home session before her move.
What was the concept for your lifestyle shoot?
Dani: We really wanted to capture some the every day moments for us. We’re big coffee people so we know we wanted to incorporate that morning ritual as well as just hanging out and watching Eli do his Eli thing.
How did Eli react during the photo shoot?
Dani: This was a time when Eli was super not into performing. He was pretty stoic the majority of the time! It wasn’t until the very end when we were able to get some of his big toothy, grins. He’s still pretty stoic, but he gives out those smiles much more often these days.
What was it like working with your photographer, Jaclyn Rey?
Dani: Working with Jaclyn is the best (and I know I’m a bit biased, but really she’s so great). We’re not really an in front of the camera kind of people, but Jaclyn is so easy going. She makes the process feel natural and always comes out with great shots.
