Tell us about Southern Mama’s Chiropractic! How long have you been in business?
Dr. Cece: Southern Mama’s Chiropractic has been open and serving middle Tennessee families since late 2022. Our provider has been a practicing chiropractic for almost a decade. In 2022 she sold her busy family, pregnancy and infant practice of 7 years and moved her family to Tennessee.
What made you want to work with parents/families/kids/babies?
Dr. Cece: The children in America are getting significantly sicker, with 1 in 4 being diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, Autism or Allergies. This pressing issue alongside the increase in infant mortality rates and cesarean births, ignites passion to educate on a different perspective and health approach that doesn’t involve a drug. We believe that birth matters and how we are born has an impact on our health for the rest of our lives.
What is the philosophy behind Southern Mama’s Chiropractic?

What are your strengths compared to other chiropractors?
Dr. Cece: Our main strengths are in our experience and expertise. Dr. Cecelia’s expertise is founded on years of mentorship with one of the leading pediatric chiropractic and cranial masters and educators. We also have years of webster certification, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, pediatric education and will soon to be a certified pediatric chiropractor. This specialty certification would make her 1 of 3 doctors in all of Nashville- middle Tennessee with this council certification. Her years of experience working with pregnancy and infants, as well as being a home-birth mom of two, drives her confidence and has increased her skills.
What attracts parents to work with you?
Dr. Cece: Our main attraction has always been other parents raving about the authentic care they received from our clinic. Also our specialty and gentle techniques seem to bring even the skeptical parents our way. We take the time to communicate and educate, which makes parents feel heard and empowered. After leaving patients that we have treated for years, the resounding feedback has been that they miss Dr. Cecelia’s vibrant energy and skilled specific adjustments.
What are some cool new and innovative trends you’ve seen in your area of expertise?
Dr. Cece: We are able to screen pregnant mamas after 30/35 weeks to predict for intervention. There has been some amazing new research discussing the idea of measuring and monitoring what is being called the Umbilical-trochanter angle. This angle, when larger than 30 degrees after 35 weeks, has been shown to have higher likely hood of interventions and cesarean births. In our office we use this screening tool to guide care to other techniques to balance pelvis and we’re grateful to learn this tool directly from the researcher himself.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your business?
Dr. Cece: We are so excited to be in such a family centered community and feel blessed everyday that God called us here. Our mission is to provide high quality, up to date chiropractic care that is specific for the individual’s needs. As well as easier access for more children to experience the benefits of chiropractic care and moms to be supported the way they need to be.
